**Located immediately lateral to statocyst.
 
**It does not have a counterpart in the right pedal ganglion.
 
**Sometimes is is displaced with LP2, but easily recognizable because it is more heavily pigmented orange.
 
**LP1 axon has extensive arborizations in the ipsilateral pedal ganglion before fibers exit through nerves 1, 3,4, and cross the midline.

**Resting membrane potential = -60 mV
 
**Action potential amplitude 55-85 mV.
