The Pyloric Central Pattern Generator (CPG) is an ensemble of neurons in the Stomatogastric ganglion that produces a rhythmic motor pattern controlling the pylorus (the pyloric region of the foregut). There are some details that differ between species. This a description of the general properties of the pyloric CPG of decapod crustaceans.
